In the Denpasar District Court defence lawyer Freity Kaseger volunteered to assist defendants under the Indonesian Advocates Lega Aid system (Pos Bantuan Hukum Advokat Indonesia). In one case she successfully defended Fajar Hasmara, born 12 December 1990 in Ujung Pandang in Makassar, who was prosecuted for theft. Mr Hasmara was convicted of the crime but due to the defence provided by Mrs Kaseger his jail term was reduced by 50% from what the prosecution was seeking.
