On Wednesday 1 October 2025 defence lawyer Freity Kaseger S.H. represented Australian tourist Nelson Philip James, from Lismore in northern NSW, in the Denpasar District Court where he is facing up to 12 years in a Bali prison on drug charges. Mr James was pulled over by Badung police on a scooter alongside a female passenger for failing to wear helmets. During the inspection, officers uncovered small plastic bags containing a white powder. Laboratory testing conducted by Indonesian police confirmed the substance in the seized packets was cocaine. Mr James maintains that two small bags of cocaine were planted in his pocket by the woman passenger.
